Here is a new one I am working on (click on the image to see it animate) and here is a nice one that Okada sent to me...

I also found some fun ones on the internets - here they are: (click on them to animate too!)

Have a great weekend! I am so glad it is Friday!

My Friend's Beautiful Pictures of the Gardens at Versailles and Corbusier's Chapel in Ronchamp That She Said I could Steal For This Post...

My lovely friend Brooke went to France this fall and took these beautiful photos. I had to put them up here because I think they are so inspiring and I haven't really taken any great fall shots myself yet. The top photos are from the gardens at Versailles and the middle two are of Corbusier's chapel Notre Dame du Haut that he built in Ronchamp in 1954 (here is a great photo of him...). The last few photos are of the area surrounding the town of Ronchamp - look at that electric pole! Only in France...

Thank you Wikipedia - and Thank you Brooke!

Old friends, New Inspirations and The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living...

(..a few more over here...)

Hello. I am so tired! I have just enough energy left to do a quick post and then I am off to lala land with some hot chocolate and a book - I am exhausted!

We had a really crazy and fun weekend hanging out with P's brother and some old friends. I thought it had only been a couple years since I saw them last but actually it has been 5 years!! I can't believe it.

My one old friend used to be a jeweller and is now an architect - so I made sure I showed her this book at the Strand and she bought it! (it has such a beautiful sculpture on the cover) - I also made sure that she checked out this exciting new building by the same architects which is supposed to open next month AND I insisted that she visit the Moss store just so I could talk to her about how inspiring the pieces are (even if she or I know we will NEVER own anything even close to the things they have in there - but we would both love to design some of it!)

P, his bro and I also made a special trip to the Met because we were dying to see this...pretty cool!

We miss his brother now that he is gone - hopefully he'll come again soon...

Oh yea - and I finally gave in and got this book - Wohoo!

Harper's Bazaar is having its 140th Year...

I thought I would post these great Harper's Bazaar covers - as they are having their 140th year anniversary issue this month. I might even actually buy this one because I think it talks a little about the different personalities who have contributed, art directed and edited it over the years - like Brodovich (one of my favorites!), Avedon (here is his wikipedia page) and Vreeland (wiki) - not to mention Carmel Snow (wiki) and Paul Poiret (wiki)...! I would love to learn a little bit more about them...

I Love My Neighbourhood

I really do love my new neighbourhood. It meets all my neighbourhood requirements: kitchy window displays, well-stocked delis and a cozy coffee shop just down the street...

I spent a good chunk of the weekend roaming around on the internets and these are some things I thought were interesting...

...Loyal Loot getting props from Shiny Squirrel - I love their new clothing collection too...
...Some great pictures and an interview with Lukas and Niall about their show - I'm impressed!...
...Maditi's polaroids and blog...
...I have something in common (the last post on this page - Dec 01, 2006) with 2 or 3 Things I Know...

Yesterday I Was a Grouch But Today I am O.k. PLUS Some Mugs I Made...

(...to see them animate click on the photo and to see them larger click here...)

Hello. I am feeling much better today thank you very much. And so, I would like to introduce you to these strange, yet charming (?) mugs that I have made. I am REALLY into them. But there is a good chance that it could just be me...

In any case - here there are - and they are available for purchase by clicking on that mysterious "Shop" link I have in my sidebar, which I haven't really been able to clarify until now. I had been thinking about making these for awhile now, but then of course it took me awhile to get my act together and figure out how it would all work, and then design them, and then get them up on the website thing, and then buy them for myself to make sure they were okay and on and on and on. But now they are HERE and they look GOOD and I took PHOTOS of them and have had a DRINK or two from them and I am really impressed all round I have to say.

One of them is holding some markers and pens as we speak and the other will make a nice vase for a single cut flower and then I think I will keep the third for my tea. Not bad I think!

I have about 6 or 7 more lined up ready to be released so as soon as they have passed the pen, flower and liquid test I will add them to the shop - and I'll make sure to remind you too.

Hope you are having a nice Sunday!

So I made these T-Shirts...

For that multi-million dollar Uniqlo contest thingy and they didn't even pick my designs. Too bad. Maybe it was because I used this image as my profile picture? Oh well.

I wonder who will win in the end. The prize is 3 Million yen! That's a lot of dough. And Yayoi Kusama was judging - she is one of my favorite artists. I wrote a post on her last year - my second post on my new-born blog! (October 13, 2006)....

Friday tomorrow again?? Hmmmm...time is really escaping me somehow these days!
