The Paris Review Covers

(...all images from here of course...)

Alright - I know these are teeny-tiny, but you still can tell how awesome these old copies of The Paris Review are. I love that they decided to return to the old divided cover design with possibly the most amazing logo ever prominently at the top.

Here are some slighty more life size...and here is a piece about The Paris Review on NPR...

Last Weekend: A Photo Essay and Some Minor Blabbing

I am not sure if these photos really go together or not...but it is good evidence of our busy last weekend!

We went to finally see the WACK show and the Olafur Eliasson installations at PS1. It was so much fun! I thought the shows were really great. The Olafur Eliasson pieces were really breathtaking. I loved them. I need to go back to the MOMA to see the things he has there. I missed them last time because it was the opening night and his rooms were for "members only"...sheesh.

We also went to see the Daniel Richter show at David Zwirner gallery in Chelsea. That was a great show to see. I am not too familar with his work so it was a nice introduction, lots of painterly effects and spots of bright colour which I always really like - (plus many other smart things going on of course....)

On Sunday night we went to see Harmony Korine's new movie Mister Lonely - it was.....hmmmm....strange to say the least. I am probably not the best person to ask because Gummo scared the pants off me...so there you go.

The rest of the weekend was taken up by lots of eating - including a lovely meal at a friends house, some walking through Queens, and probably a drink or two here and there. Pretty good all round.

Thursday already tomorrow...oh boy...

Hopefully I will have more projects to show by Friday - fingers crossed!

Expired Polaroid Film Takes Pictures Like This...

(...I Finally Bought A Polaroid set on flickr...)

So much for posting on the weekend - it passed by in a total blur. I seemed to squeeze in lots of things though - mostly judging by all the photos I took - a million!! My memory card is totally full now... I will try to wade through all the digital memories and see if I can pull together something to show and tell about tomorrow. Today I will leave you with these kind of yellow-y but still nice polaroid prints I took with expired film - I bought a pack of ten for five bucks! Not bad...

I also have been enjoying reading through a few blogs which I haven't checked up on in a long time. I have that whole long list in my sidebar but it is funny how I just get in the habit of looking at the same two or three over and over again...and there is so much great stuff out there - it is really unbelieveable. Thier photos are so beautiful, the links are great and their kind of day-to-day creativity is really inspiring...

B (For Business) Cards...

(...bigger images over here...)

I made these cards last week - finally something that I can hand to people to direct them to all my online junk. So that is something to check of my ever-growing list...!

I hand printed them using linocut (my new favorite printing medium). I really like the black ink on the baby blue. I am really happy with them! They each have their own little envelope and a sticker on the back to seal it. The only problem with making my own cards is that is it pretty time-consuming. I only have made 25 so far, so I am going to have to be pretty conservative with handing them out. Oh well, I have another box of blank cards left so I can always make some more...

Hope you have a great weekend. I may be back this weekend if I can find the time...

Bye!

These Necklaces Are Great!

I found them on the Ooga Booga webshop along with these other awesome things here and here...

...mmmm...disposable income...I really miss having some...maybe someday!

I have been busy busy FINALLY doing my spring cleaning - it has taken me three full days! I only have one small box of dreaded papers to go through and then it is finished...thank god. I can finally breathe in here and get some things done without my brain feeling overcrowded (if you know what I mean).

I will try to be back with a post before the weekend - so see you then!
