I Am Learning How To Crochet and I Really Like These Pieces By Emily Barletta...

Hello! I hope you had a nice day yesterday - if you had a Thanksgiving holiday - or even if you didn't...I am still feeling stuffed. I had such a great time yesterday and now I am trying to do the "getting stuff done" part of my Thanksgiving holiday...

So - like my title says - my good ladyfriend G has given me my one free crochet lesson (her birthday gift to me this year, plus yarn and hook!). I also found these great crochet pieces by Emily Barletta that I think are so great and are really inspiring - thanks once again to love forever (sorry to keep snatching your links!). Emily also has a blog here.

I really like the kind of free-form nature of these sculptures. I am excited to get a book with some good scarf, hat and mitten patterns, but once I have those figured out I would really like to try some more of this experimental type of crochet. Maybe it could be like another art-making medium, like watercolour or photography...another way to make something come alive I guess...

In any case - I think winter and the Holiday season has finally arrived here. For one thing - it is really cold today - and they have turned on the Christmas lights on our street! Tomorrow I am going to try to snap some last fall colour pictures in the park and then I guess it is time to start thinking about gifts and maybe a few decorations for our little apartment...

Have a nice weekend!
