A One Off: The Two Heads Tote

I made a totebag with the Colorhead design, but I wasn't so happy with how it turned out so I added some fabric paint and sequins. It took forever but I think it was worth it. There are two "interactive" movies of it just for fun on my flickr...here and here.

And hey - I am moving this weekend (yeech!) - and I am not sure yet what the internet situation is like in the new place so I might be away for a couple of days, maybe even a little longer. I really hope not, but if it is quiet around here you'll know why.

That's all I have to report at the moment. Have a really nice weekend.

Hope You Are Not Sick of Photographs

(...some more stashed over here...)

I finally developed some 35mm film last week after waiting months and months. Now I only wait until a pack of two goes on sale for $9.99. There wasn't any last time - but maybe this weekend...

Do you like bitmapped drawings? I really do.

This is a good one too - Jennifer Sullivan Artist Website - I really like the "Thoughts and Feelings" section.

As I Was Moving Ahead, Occasionally I Saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty

I saw part of this movie above by Jonas Mekas this summer at PS1. I thought it was really beautiful. I wish I could find it online somewhere, but I don't think it is out there anywhere. Here are a few links that I dug up as a consolation prize.

...Jonas Mekas personal website...
...wiki page...
...New York Times review...
...New York Times article...
...Gothamist interview...
...a youtube video about his exhibition at the Warwick Arts Centre with clips from Glimpses of Beauty...
...some text and film stills...

Happy Tuesday...

(...a bit of a response to What a Long Strange Trip It's Been...)

Have a great weekend everyone.

Ed Fella

I found all these things on Ed Fella's slighty goofy (in a good way) website the other day. They fire all sorts of associations at the same time for me - kind of dated, kind of not, part eighties Memphis-y/Minimalist-y, part nineties grunge, part Dada and then something unique like nothing I have ever seen before. I think the first few images above of his type sketches have this quality the most. I really like them.

This would be a good book for the shelf, here and here...

A webcast of a lecture he gave at the Walker from not so long ago...

Two cool fonts from Emigre: Fellaparts and OutWest...

On the Bus Again

Another speedy bus trip. Got back just last night.

The smallest image is an animated gif - if you click here you can see it do its thing.

Haidee Findlay-Levin

I really liked this styling by Haidee Findlay-Levin for Tom Scott's s/s 2008 collection. Really beautiful and smart/fun too. I dug around for some links so here you are:

...portfolio at Creative Exchange Agency...
...documentation of a great outfit at papermag...
...about town at A Slowboat to Mediocrity...
...some chat at the Fashion Spot...
...posts on the Hint Blog...

Bisous,
