The Dick Cavett Show

Alright. The Dick Cavett Show! I haven't watched all of these - but the ones I have seen are really great and totally worth checking out. I only put on Part 1 (if I could find it - some of these might be middle parts of the interviews sorry), so you will have to click through to youtube to watch them in their entirety. Dick Cavett seems like the original Charlie Rose. Really corny and definitely creating alot of awkward moments but still able to get his guests to reveal something honest about themselves. Tough job.

And hey! Sorry to be such a bad blogger these days! I didn't mean to check out for such a long period. Life outside the internets has been especially demanding lately - trying to get the life in order - lots of endless lists as not as much crossing off as I would like. But hopefully I will get there eventually! Fingers crossed.

I watched all of these over a bottle of wine last week. Funny, they got better and better the more wine I consumed. Frank Zappa was downright transcendental.

Hi! Super glad you enjoyed the shows!! I thought they were great. Ya Zappa right - so articulate. Didn't really know that about him. And what about Woody - kind of pervy right?? I guess that is no surprise.

Were the celebrated personalities smarter and more interesting back then? They certainly seem less conservative. More political, sexual, spiritual....or maybe it's just me...

Dick Cavett! The only American talk show host I can stand to watch. He's quietly off the wall, willing to go down any strange route the guests take him, game for anything, and modest. It would be nice to see this kind of dry, droll observational remove now, but it doesn't seem likely. Not on this continent anyway.
